Joining The Institute

There are two membership classes available for applicants, depending on their experience and coaching/instructing qualifications.
Associate (A.I.C.S.I.) and Member (M.I.C.S.I.). The criteria for the differing classes are below.

In addition to the membership class fee (detailed below) a £20 non-refundable administration charge is applicable on application.
New members receive free of charge, an ICSI Tie, an ICSI Cloth Badge and an ICSI Enamel Pin Badge.

Associate (A.I.C.S.I.)

Fee payable: £50

Every candidate for ‘Election’ to the class of Associate shall:
• have attained the age of 21
• be able to demonstrate an appropriate degree of knowledge, instructional ability and professionalism as shall make it desirable that the person be an Associate of The Institute. 

And
be able to demonstrate that they have been engaged in the Profession of Clay Shooting Instruction on a regular and continuous period of not less than 3 years.

Or
have passed a Coaching Course organised and conferred by a Governing Body of Clay Shooting and/or accredited by the ICSI.

 

Member (M.I.C.S.I.)

Fee payable: £60

Every candidate for ‘Election’ or ‘Transfer’ to the class of Member shall:
• have attained the age of 25
• in the opinion of the Council, have a broad experience in Clay Shooting Instruction and be able to demonstrate an appropriate degree of knowledge, instructional ability and professionalism, as shall make it desirable that the person be a Member of The Institute
• be Sponsored/Ratified by two Members or Fellows to the satisfaction of the Council.

And
• have been an Associate (A.I.C.S.I.) for a minimum of 2 years, whilst continuing to regularly practice the profession of clay shooting instruction (not purely corporate work)
• show a level of progression in their coaching skill/knowledge through ‘Continuing Professional Development’ (CPD)
• undertake a formal appraisal of their practical coaching ability (overseen by an Institute Member, appointed by Council).

Or
have passed a Senior or Advanced Coaching Course organised and conferred by a Governing Body of Clay Shooting and/or accredited by the ICSI.

“Senior Level”: should be defined as CPSA L2 or equivalent, not L3.
